      The Philosophy of Rainbow -- The underlying goal of Rainbow is to teach a girl the importance of being a good person and to reinforce the differences between right and wrong. By participating in Rainbow activities, a girl begins to practice the values she is taught at the meetings. For instance, taking part in service projects, she learns first-hand the joy that comes from helping others. Through the fund-raising projects, she learns the importance of generating revenue to meet the assembly’s expenses. The many fun activities provide a Rainbow Girl with the opportunity to enjoy and experience new things, and to meet and make good friends. Rainbow history has proven that the camaraderie and fellowship experienced by the girls result in life-long friendships. Rainbow Girls are responsible for conducting all business and planning the activities of the assembly. Top quality adults are always there to provide guidance, stability, and interpret rules. However, Rainbow believes a girl benefits most when she receives as much “hands-on” experience as possible. All major decisions are made by the girls during their regular course of business.

      Rainbow Heritage -- The International Order or the Rainbow for Girls has been a vital part of the lives of young women since its founding in 1922. Members hail from 46 states and eight foreign countries. Rainbow is open to all girls ages 11 to 20, regardless of race or creed. Although no specific religion is followed, members are required to hold a belief in the Supreme Being.
