Bible Tribute The Holy Bible. It is the center of our assembly room. In Rainbow, we refer to the Bible as the White Light. Just as white light contains every color of the spectrum, the Bible contains within its pages every teaching of our Rainbow.
written by Donna Harrison Beeson,
Grand Lecturer in Calfornia, 1978
Love's red ray is evident in John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son." And Jesus taught us that "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all they heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy mind and thy neighbor as thyself."
We see the orange ray of Religion spring forth from the book of Job. Even when met with the greatest of trials, Job remained pious and upright and did not forsake God.
The yellow ray of Nature is woven into the Book of Genesis. God created this beautiful world and blessed us with the ability to appreciate and protect his wonderful creation.
The color green is contained within he pages of the New Testament. The entire story of the Christian religion and of our Savior Jesus Christ is a promise of immortality. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."
The story of Ruth is one of fidelity. Her true blue loyalty to her mother-in-law Naomi was evident when she left her friends, home and country to follow Naomi to the land of her birth, which would subject Ruth to numerous hardships. When Naomi told Ruth it was not necessary for her to do this, Ruth replied, "Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee, for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God."
Patriotism's indigo hue shines forth from the book of Esther. Queen Esther's loyalty to her people was so great that she risked even her life to save her people from death.
The violet ray of Service is found throughout the pages of the Holy Bible. The entire Book is composed of stories of men and women who devoted their lives to the service of God and of mankind. The Great Teacher said, "in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
The Holy Bible is truly the crystalization of every color of our Rainbow. It is filled with parables, songs and stories. Stories of Love, Religion, Nature, Immortality, Fidelity, Patriotism and Service Stories of Faith -- "Blessed are those who do not see, and yet stil believe," and of Charity, "Now abidith Faith, Hope and Charity, these three, but the greatest of these is charity." And a very special promise of Hope made by the Lord, "I do set my bo in the cloud, and it shall be a token of a covenant between me and the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud and I will remember my covenant which is between me and you and very living creature of all flesh: and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."
The Holy Bible contains within its pages not only many valuable lessons taught by our Rainbow, but the answers to so many of life's questions. But remember, to find the answers, you must read the Bible. "Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
