      Local (Assembly) Level:

      Greenfield Assembly No. 27, Greenfield:

      • Greenfield Assembly meets at the Masonic Lodge in Greenfield. They are sponsored by the local Eastern Star Chapter.

      • Assembly traditions include Ooga Booga, Purple Cow, Turtle (however, only two people know it now), Meet the Moose, Blanket.

      • For her term, the Worthy Advisor-elect chooses Mascot, Colors, Theme, Watch Words and Motto.

      • The Worthy Advisor picks the mascot, it is up to the girls to go out and get their own mascot (matching what the WA has picked if they wish to do so)

      • Installations are usually on Saturdays, and usually on the second regular meeting day of the month. They are usually held at 2 pm with a collation to follow. We all wear white to Installations and every event. The Worthy Advisor can give her girls gifts, but most don't.

      • Passed down items. The PWA presents the new WA with a traveling gavel necklace.

      • We give all of our merit bars out at the June installation.

      • When a new (first time) Worthy Advisor is installed she is given a lamb by her Worthy Associate Advisor.

      Natick Assembly No. 28, Natick:

      • Natick Assembly meets at the Masonic Hall in Natick. Their sponsoring body is Aurora Chapter #9, OES

      • Assembly traditions include: Ooga-Booga, Under the Blanket, and a Ritual Competition. In Under the Blanket, you make the girl sit indian style in the middle of the bed or on the floor. You then tell her to cover herself with a blanket and help her with it so she is totally covered, then just ask her to take off the last thing she put on and hand it out from under the blanket to you, reassuring her at all times that you and the other girls in the room can't see her. You'd be surprised how much some girls take off before they figure out that the last thing they put on was the blanket!

      • The Worthy Advisor-elect chooses her mascot, colors, theme, term activities, officers.

      • Installations are usually held on weekends. Few are held after meetings because our Assembly is large. Depending on the girl, they can be afternoon or evening with a dinner before or a large collation afterwards.

      • More Installation. We all wear white at Installations, the Worthy Advisor thanks her Installing Suite and officers with small gifts, which are not presented at the Installation. Sometimes the Masons present a check.

      • Passed down items. A gavel necklace is passed down at the meeting before the Installation, when the new officers are announced.

      • Other presentations. Merit bars. Each term, two girls are nominated for the Assembly Ritual competition and two girls are given "Most Improved" awards.

      • The Past Worthy Advisor is presented with her PWA jewel.

      Area (District) Level:

      Grand (State) Level:

      • Massachusetts has Rainbow Camp. Ooga-Booga, Under the Blanket, and other "initiation" like things are very popular at camp.

      • Massachusetts has one march that all of the Assemblies and Grand Assembly uses. It's kind of hard to describe it, but everyone who sees it from out of state is very impressed!
