The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls has Assemblies in most American states, as well as Canada, Australia, Italy, Brazil, and other Grand Jurisdictions.

However, each Grand Jurisdiction has differences that make it unique. Traditions, history, songs, Grandies... the list goes on. I'll bet many of you, like me, weren't aware of how different Rainbow can be from decade to decade, not to mention from state to state!

What I'm attempting to do is catalog the differences for each Grand Jurisdiction; and, since I cannot afford to travel to each state and check out everything for myself, I'm asking for your assistance!

Grab your songbook, your Grand Assembly program, your state handbook, your state newspaper, your scrapbook, and anything else you can think of, and to the best of your ability, fill out the interview I've drawn up. This will take a while, but I honestly do appreciate your efforts in helping me to create this database! And please, don't feel bad if you don't know the answer to a question - any info you give will be helpful, and I'm sure other people can fill in the blanks over time. You can always email me with additional information later on!

If you've already filled out the questionnaire, or you'd like to get an idea of what this is all about, please check out the pages for the Grand Jurisdictions that I have information on. If your Jurisdiction isn't listed, it's because I have no information on it, and I'm waiting for someone to submit it! (hint, hint)

I would love to get Jurisdictions' dress codes, merit bar systems, and other "traditional to the Jurisdiction" details catalogued before the new "Universal Rules" go into effect!

Disclaimer: The information on the pages in the Grand Jurisdiction Database come from user input (from Rainbow Girls past & present, young & mature; from Board Members, Mother Advisors, parents of Rainbow Girls, and from other members of our Masonic Family). Since we are all only human, we may misremember things, not fully understand the rules, or things may have changed since we were active. This Database is meant as an archive of traditions that may have disappeared over the years, or for Assemblies that have closed to be fondly remembered, and to learn more about Rainbow in other states -- that no matter what songs we sing, traditions we have, language we speak, and Grand Assembly guidelines we have, or if we wear hoopskirts, multi-colored dresses, hairpieces, or crowns, we are still bound together in a wonderful sisterhood that crosses the borders of states, countries and even the span of time (eighty years!), and that we are all dedicated to love and service. I ask that you do not interpret what is contained on these individual Jurisdiction pages as the current 'set-in-stone truth'; rather, check with members in, and websites for, that Grand Jurisdiction for more complete and up-to-date dress codes and so forth.
