      Denise Chance Installed as
      Rainbow Girls Worthy Advisor


      Traverse City Assembly No. 55, Order of Rainbow for Girls, recently held a public installation of officers with retiring Worthy Advisor, Miss Margaret Carpenter, opening the meeting. Pastor J. Edward Nelson was escorted to the east, where he gave the invocation.

      Mrs. Ruth Prouty, Worthy Matron of Traverse City Chapter No. 147, Order of Eastern Star, was escorted to the east, where she welcomed the guests.

      Installing officers were introduced as follows: Mrs. Leona Haner, installing officer; Miss Adrienne Bloomquist, installing marshall; Miss Kay Rice, installing chaplain; Master Rudy Emerick, installing organist; Miss Stephanie Fiebing, installing soloist; Miss Emily Eggli, installing recorder.

      Officers installed were: Worthy Advisor, Denise Chance; Worthy Associate Advisor, Garnette Palmer; Hope, Barbara Reid; Faith, Janet Wheelock; Chaplain, Janet Anderson; D. L., Helen Jenkins; Love, Norene Towne; Nature, Yvonne Dupries; Immortality, Ione Southworth; Fidelity, Shirley Ritter; Patriotism, Judy Grant; Confidential Observer, Merry Samuelson; Outer Observer, Karen Nicholson; Musician, Kay Jo Brown; Sunshine committee, Barbara Kramer; Arc committee, Karen Curtiss; Assistant Drill Leader, Barbara Sleder, Assistant Musician, Dixie Sims and members of the choir.

      Miss Fiebing sang "Bless This House" during the intermission before the officers-elect were installed. As the Worthy Advisor, Denice Chance knelt at the altar, she sang "Ave Maria." The Worthy Advisor was escorted to the east where she received her crown. She was then seated in the east. Miss Palmer was escorted to the east to receive her Worthy Associate Advisor crown before she was taken to her station. Miss Fiebing sang "The Lord's Prayer" for the chaplain and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for the girls in the color stations.

      Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chance, parents of the newly installed Worthy Advisor, were escorted to the east, where they were introduced by the Worthy Advisor. While in the east, Miss Fiebing sand "I Love You Truly."

      The Mother Advisor, Mrs. Evan Westcott, presented Miss Carpenter with the Past Worthy Advisor's jewel from the assembly. Miss Carpenter presented Miss Chance with the sterling traveling gavel, which is worn by each Worthy Advisor. Mr. Chance was escorted to the east to present the new Worthy Advisor with a white Rainbow Bible from Traverse City Chapter No. 192, Royal Arch Masons.

      Miss Carpenter was taken to the altar where she knelt to receive a crown of white and yellow chrysanthemums from the assembly, as a token of appreciation.

      Merit bars were awarded to the deserving girls.

      In closing Miss Fiebing sang "At the Close of a Perfect Day."

      Refreshments were served to the guests in the parlors by Mrs. Jonas Neihardt and Mrs. Leroy Wheelock.
