      BIBLE DEDICATION

Dear Lord, help us form friendships that are stimulating to the best that is in us, and call forth our highest qualities and capabilities. This will help us express a richer womanhood, and as girls, we will learn the beauty of its simplicity and humility blessed in its purity.

A friend, says Webster, is one attached to another by esteem, respect and affection. Friendship Is a state of being friends, friendly attachment. Isn't that a sweet thought? Nothing can be sweeter in life than a true friend. To have a friend we must first be one ourselves. We must hold in esteem and respect those we would call friend, and their affection should be likened to that of a kinsman.

Keep faith with your friends and never let another feel that you have forsaken her or broken a confidence. This will lessen the respect of that person and destroy a sweet friendship. Be true to the best that is in you with your friendships, girls.

Learning the secret of friendship, we lay aside each selfish motive that would hurt or harm another. We learn to follow more of the golden rule of living, and last but not least we learn to think and pause awhile before we act.

When you go to the mirror and look at yourself, you can live with yourself that day if you have layed aside all your falsity and to your friends been true in every way. You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years, maybe, but you have cheated that girl in the glass, if you have failed in your friendships.

Remember your promise. Rainbow gave you this privilege when you become a member. It will be your guide and shield and make your friendships true and real.

Lord, Help Us To Keep Our Promise is our prayer.

      —Marie A. Boyett
      (Aunt Marie).
